The Arnold Palmer Design Company has long been regarded as one of the premier companies in the golf course architectural industry. Founded in 1972, APDC has created approximately 300 courses around the world. APDC has won numerous awards and our courses have been the venues for many tournaments. However, APDC believes the best reward is the quality of life provided to those who enjoy their golf courses and the friendships with clients coming from jobs well-done.

Our design philosophy is simple: To design beautiful golf courses that are fun to play while maintaining the utmost respect for nature. Further we apply current land planning trends that create value and a sense of place in communities by the thoughtful placement of our courses and amenities.

Our reputation in the industry is impeccable. We take extreme care to be fair and practical in our work to all parties. It’s all to do with the influence and guidance of Arnold Palmer. “He is our mentor,” says Thad Layton.

Mr. Palmer says: “I believe in traditional, straight forward design that produces courses with lasting quality and that are exciting and enjoyable for all players. The designs are founded on the principles and strategies of the game and are sensitive to the land and the environment. All of us work very well together. I give them my feelings and thoughts on a particular hole or course and they fit it in."

Arnold Palmer Design Company is headquartered in Orlando, Florida, at Arnold Palmer’s winter home, the Bay Hill Club and Lodge. This location allows our clients to come enjoy his world-class resort and play on the renowned golf course which hosts the annual Arnold Palmer Invitational presented by MasterCard on the PGA Tour, while being able to meet and spend time with Arnold Palmer and his staff. Orlando’s international airport provides convenient access for APDC clients from around the country and the world.
